Add Rentium as a custom plugin

    Turn on developer mode

    In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Security and login, and turn on Developer mode. If you already see a plus button on the Plugins page, this is already enabled.

    Open Plugins

    Go to chatgpt.com/plugins and select the plus button beside Search plugins. This opens the New Plugin form.

    Enter the Rentium connection

    Name it Rentium, choose Server URL, enter https://api.rentium.app/api/mcp, and select OAuth. Advanced OAuth values can stay empty because Rentium supplies them securely.

    Create and authorize

    Review the custom-server notice, confirm that you want to continue, and select Create. Sign in to Rentium and choose the workspace ChatGPT may use.

Claude

Add Rentium as a custom connector

    Open Connectors

    In Claude, go to Customize, then Connectors. Select the plus button and choose Add custom connector.

    Add Rentium's server address

    Enter https://api.rentium.app/api/mcp. You can leave Advanced settings blank — Rentium handles the OAuth connection automatically.

    Connect your workspace

    Select Add, then Connect. Sign in to Rentium and choose the workspace Claude may use. Team and Enterprise workspaces require an owner to add the connector first.

    Enable it in a conversation

    In a Claude chat, select the plus button by the message box, open Connectors, and turn on Rentium for that conversation.

Check the address before you connect

Custom connectors can read data and take actions in the service you connect. Only use Rentium's official server address below, review the workspace shown during sign-in, and pay attention when ChatGPT or Claude asks to approve a change.

What is MCP?
MCP, or Model Context Protocol, is a standard way for an AI assistant to use tools and work with data in another product. You do not need to install or learn MCP to connect Rentium — add Rentium's server URL once, then sign in normally.
Why does ChatGPT or Claude call Rentium a custom or unverified connector?
Rentium is not listed in the ChatGPT or Claude connector directories yet, so it is added through their custom-connector flow. The warning is expected. Confirm that the server address is exactly https://api.rentium.app/api/mcp before continuing.
Does the connector get my Rentium password?
No. Rentium uses OAuth: the connector sends you to Rentium's secure sign-in and receives permission to work in the workspace you choose. Your password is never entered into the connector form.
What can ChatGPT or Claude do after I connect Rentium?
The AI can use Rentium's tools to read and change records in the workspace you selected, including owners, properties, units, tenants, leases, payments, and rent roll data. Review requested actions carefully, especially changes and deletions.
Do I need ChatGPT or Claude to import my existing data?
No. Rentium includes its own AI assistant. Open the assistant in your dashboard, attach spreadsheets, CSV files, PDFs, or screenshots, and ask it to import your portfolio. It proposes a plan for your confirmation before creating records.
Can I disconnect Rentium later?
Yes. Remove or disconnect Rentium from the connector settings in ChatGPT or Claude. You can reconnect later and choose a Rentium workspace again.
